「Me too. I am happy 」

Why did I come
here?
I came to this
particular place for many reasons. After I have lived in Tokyo for more than
1,5 years, I wanted to go far away, to a place with fresh air. I wanted to
trade skyscrapers to trees. I`ve heard that the weather is wonderful in this
part of Japan, so I looked at WWOOF places in this part of the country. When I
read the description and the feedback of this place, I knew I wanted to go to
come here. It sounded as wonderful as it is. Art and good, fresh and organic
food is very close to my heart. Satos family revolves around art and good food,
so I knew I would love it here.
First Impressions?
Where do I begin,
there were so many impressions the first day. Already at the train station
where Kentaro picked me up, I could see his beautiful Japanese clothes and Japanese
geta shoes. This city is so small and beautiful; it seems to be just one street
surrounded by wooden and colorful houses surrounded by mountains. I couldn’t believe
I would live alone in a house that is an art gallery with Kentaros sculptures,
and in the house I had my own traditional Japanese tatami room. Then I got to
see more of Satos beautiful houses, all pieces of art. I met Makiko in the
restaurant, and there we had wonderful food, somen and tempura. This is such a wonderful
place I could not believe it was real. After dinner Kentaro took me to the
togen no yu onsen. We drove in the dark, in the rain up a hill, and when we
stopped the car Kentaro should me his studio, and next to it was the onsen. I
saw an open fire with which the natural water is heated. So there I could
experience the onsen in the candlelight, and hearing the sounds of the forest
and rain outside. It was an amazing first day. Thank you!
